This distinctive oak framed extension is situated at the rear of an attractive end terraced property in Liverpool’s Wavertree Garden Suburb. The more traditional appearance and compact size of the extension reflects the stringent requirements of the conservation area approval.
The extension in conjunction with a knock through into the rear of the property provides the client with a more generous and contemporary kitchen space incorporating an island unit set within a glazed extension which provides the home owners with pleasant views over their attractive garden.
In addition to the this the space also accommodates a shower room and WC at ground floor level. The commission also included the conversion of the property’s loft space providing the house with an additional bedroom.
The architectural language is a little more traditional. The oak
frame lends the project a very warm and tactile feel and the overall colour of the oak contrasts nicely with the terracotta roof tiles and the white harled walls of the existing house.
